Shifting
Sands
Do not the declining
years of a persons sweeping life,
So quickly slip through
the shifting sands of time,
Leaving so many of us
wilting rather like twisted twine.
But shouldn't each passing
minute be pleasing and without strife?
And do not life's waves
of indifference always surge into a turbulent sea?
Flowing constantly into
the still waters of an unmapped territory,
Where all sour journeying
souls may someday reach: Port Eternity.
But sadly dear friend
many will never find that key.
And instead will weep
a lasting unheard silent plea.
But cast thy burden upon
the Lord
Seek always if you will
the Saviours soothing grace,
Seen once through the
anguished eyes of those who sought HIS face,
That terrible day in
the Holy City,
That offered neither
love, repentance, or pity!
So
Never forget,
All past grievous years,
Are rather like soiled
tears,
That from each personal
shame,
Only one lasting name,
Should and will ever
remain:
And that name is JESUS.
Then through HHHis
name will come honour love and respect.
"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55:22)
